Testimonials

Thank you for your report.
It does explain allot about my difficulties and I am very grateful for this, which has already made me feel allot calmer by being understood and having greater understanding of myself within Autistic Spectrum.  It feels like I don't have to pretend anymore as I have often felt so fake, that too is a great relief.

Dr Connor has been working with my son for the past 15 years and is still ongoing . Her professionalism and detail to help us and our son has been second to none . Dr Connors expertise in Autism has enabled my son to move forward. It is a real pleasure to work with Dr Connor now and into the future.

Thank you for all your advice and for offering to meet us again if we need support.  Thank you also for the phone calls you’ve made, in addition to your meetings with X.  You have been very generous with your time and we have appreciated your kind, compassionate approach and wise insights.

Thank you for conducting the assessment and for the resulting report, GP letter and recommendations. The assessment was very informative and helped to confirm and validate some of our beliefs and understanding. It has helped to gain insight and put things into context as well as giving perspective and a sense of direction for moving forwards. This is invaluable.

I think you are fantastic for/with X and on the way home he was talking about making his house really quirky! It was great and his ideas are brilliant! And it is so lovely for him to meet someone who says he can make checklists and be okay with who he is - you are the first person who has done this.
My only wish for X has only ever been that he feels more free.
Thank you for being there and your wise words.

Since receiving a diagnosis of autism from Dr Connor in 2017, initially I saw her fairly regularly for a few sessions of post diagnostic support which included modified CBT – helping to manage cognitive distortions such as catastrophising. Thereafter, we have been meeting around every 3 months. In these sessions there is space to reflect on situations that have been particularly difficult. I have always found Dr Connor to be an empathic listener. She communicates a high level of understanding of my thinking and reaction patterns whilst offering wise and sensitive feedback to help me navigate such challenges. Sessions have been a mixture of therapy and learning and I have greatly valued them.

Louise conducted an assessment for me at very short notice, she was kind, calm, and able to engage me especially when I became overwhelmed.  She was warming and inviting and did not judge my fear of being seen.  She was able to take into consideration my wider challenges without judgement and remained professional and retained my confidentiality thoughout.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Although I had a sense of dread building up nearing the interview, in the end it was so therapeutic, I did not want the session to end – despite being three hours. Speaking to someone who understood my struggles and spoke my language (Aspie?) provided me with such a sense of relief and validation, I don’t think I have ever experienced before. I now have greater self-compassion, and therefore feel less guilty for being the way I am with others. I am looking forward to going through the resources you have shared to gain a greater understanding of ASD.

Dr Louise Connor has been involved in providing support to my wife and 3 of my 4 children since 2013. Her knowledge of autism and what was formerly known as Asperger Syndrome (AS) is exceptional. She diagnosed my wife with autism at the age of 55. This was  after she had spent nearly 30 years being involved with NHS mental health services without any meaningful professional support or suggestion that she might have autism.
Louise also diagnosed my daughter in her late teens after seeing her over a number of sessions. She also confirmed the diagnoses made by the NHS for 2 of my 3 sons. Her professional reports have been crucial in supporting applications for Disabled Students Allowance, disability benefit and additional school and college support.
Louise's approach has been friendly but totally professional throughout. Her support to my wife and my youngest son have been crucial in enabling us to move to Scotland, and she continues to support them both individually by online sessions.
Needless to say I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

"I had the pleasure to have Louise' support four years ago and again more recently. My experience has been nothing but positive: I not only feel supported but I feel that she has been capable of understanding the intricacies of some of my issues by summarising back to me  in a clear and empathetic way and this always feels like a positive starting point to find solutions forward. She has shown outstanding listening skills as well as reflective questions skills: I never felt that she is providing answers but she assisting me in finding my own answers and feel comfortable that they are the right ones for me. When I had to contact her again recently, knowing that she had availability to take me in again gave me a huge relief  because I know that I would find the support that I need and I think that is is indicative of the level of her professionalism and the relationships that she is able to establish with her clients.
